Damned Dirty Ape Brent Bozell says that Glee is an Immoral Progam not so much because certain actresses who are featured on the show posed for slutty pictures in a magazine, but because "A recent episode featured two (clothed) cheerleaders making out in bed."
Dang. Apparently lesbians exist. Perhaps to mollify Bozell in a later episode these teenaged sinners might be hounded and harrassed sufficiently that they commit suicide. Thus would Values be reaffirmed.
This also amuses:
Hollywood's defenders are forever insisting that their critics should just throw in the towel. "These are difficult days for the decency police," reported The New York Times. On MSNBC, O'Donnell asserted the game was over: we're all "going to have to realize that the censorship battle is lost." The defeat is so complete we're supposed to thank the outrage-makers for raising awareness that they cannot be trusted.
But these same critics would never say the Better Business Bureau should pack it in, or that Mothers Against Drunk Driving is becoming irrelevant. There is nothing more these cultural bohemians would like than for all the walls of traditional decency to come crashing down. Then they'll have what they really want: moral anarchy.
Historically, the people who form Vigilance Committes and Organizations for the Suppression of Vice, etc., have always relied on analogies between physical harm and moral harm to justify their existence.
Yet there remain to this day no Scientific Studies that convincingly prove there is as equally compelling a reason to not show two teenage girls kissing as there is to discourage teenagers from getting drunk and driving cars.
Strange... but TRUE!
