The affection a leftist feels for the toiling masses is abstract and theoretical, like the affection modern American liberals feel for minorities. The Common Man is, for old-line leftists, a mascot, not someone he wants in his dining room.

It perhaps has escaped the notice of Derbert Derbert that many modern American liberals are themselves members of minority groups. Indeed, one of the most famous American liberals is a Negro. We call him "Mister President."

Ha ha! But seriously! I wish Obama were actually on the Left, but my wider point stands. I mean, dang. Note the utterly unthinking assumption from Derbert Derbert that "leftist" can't possibly mean "actual member of minority group" or, hell, "person with a job." Weird. It's like they have in their heads preposterous preconceived ideas of who "leftists" are that are very silly! Ha ha! (Hint: Joe Klein is not One of Us.)

But the point right now is that John Derbyshire is a fucking godawful moron. I hope that at least is clear.

TOTALLY UNRELATED: I've said this before, but I'm coaching the 10-Year-Old's soccer team, and on this team are two sets of identical twins, and if you ever want to wish someone hard luck, wish them the job of coaching a 9-10 Year-Old soccer team with two sets of identical twins. I'm trying to get at least one of them to take up smoking, for easier identifactory purposes... Also one of our players looks exactly like Andy Partridge.
