The right wing side of the internet is all abuzz with videos "proving" that those of us who are pro Obama and his policies are attending these events for the sole purpose of beating them. No one goes to an event with the intent to beat a right winger, but when face with such insurmountable stupidity that will not respond to reason or logic, what is a rational person to do? Charles Blow really says it best in this piece,
Not only are anti-reformists showing up, they’re terrorizing legislators with their tomfoolery when they do. Blinded by fear and passion, armed with misinformation and misplaced anger, they descend on these meetings and hoot and holler in an attempt to shut down the debate rather than add to it.
I must say that this says more about them than it does about any forthcoming legislation. Belligerence is the currency of the intellectually bankrupt.
Trapped in their vacuum of ideas, too many Republicans continue to display an astounding ability to believe utter nonsense, even when faced with facts that contradict it.
A Daily Kos/Research 2000 poll released last Friday found that 28 percent of Republicans don’t believe that Barack Obama was born in the United States and another 30 percent are still “not sure.” That’s nearly 6 out of 10 Republicans refusing to accept a basic truth. Then again, this shouldn’t surprise me. According to a Gallup poll released last summer, 6 in 10 Republicans also said they thought that humans were created, in their present form, 10,000 years ago.
Let’s face it: This is no party of Einsteins. Really, it isn’t. A Pew poll last month found that only 6 percent of scientists said that they were Republicans.
Democrats should be leading this discussion. Instead, they’re losing control of it. That’s unfortunate because the debate is too important to be hijacked by hooligans.
Anyway, we know the right wing doesn't believe in using violence to solve problems. Just ask Dr. Tiller, he knows what peace loving folks they are. Just ask the 100s of thousands of dead Iraqi women and children who were collateral damage, we are clearly a peace loving people. Obviously, there is no violence involved in denying someone healthcare and thus shortening their life. Euthanasia is clearly wrong, but killing someone incrementally by denying care is well, the American way and a god given right to be defended to the death.
We call you right wing yahoos corporate shills, because you are corporate shills. When you choose a company's ability to make money over the human life you claim to value you are a corporate shill. You are being beaten, because beating you back will save human life and even you would do that right?
For the record, it might be nice if you could try to be just a tiny bit consistent in the things you believe so that you don't look like a total asshats. Think on that, huh?
