I've been following the news that National Review Online has been publishing asinine bullshit "reporting" with approximately the same sense of surprise and interest I experienced when it came to my attention that Eli Manning had a halfway decent fourth quarter in Chicago. Sometimes dispiriting mediocrity is noteworthy through the fleeting achievement of definite failure or success. Happens like that occasionally. Eli succeeded, NRO whizzed it, whatever. Neither is going anywhere, particularly. In the long run it's just a pothole on the Highway of Suck. Just a bump, some passing nausea, you deal with it.
Honestly. Does there really exist an audience that thinks, "Gosh, prior to this Unfolding Scandal, I had considered NRO a terrific source of excellent non-biased reporting about the Middle East! But now I vaguely suspect they are simply a pack of silly, dishonest apparatchiks!"
Because I fucking beg leave to doubt it.
