Hell-oooooo. Yoo-hoo.
(Raises hand)
I have a question.
I am given to understand that one of the reasons the United States cannot withdraw from Iraq is that doing so might lead to Wider Regional Conflict. You know, all the countries surrounding Iraq get dragged into conflict as opposed to their usual state of placidity (ahem), and the Middle East suddenly becomes, uh, unstable....
Anyway.
Certain unhinged liberals have argued, not unpersuasively, that sudden US withdrawal might not in fact cause this to happen. But that's not relevant to my question.
I can think of one thing that would be absolutely certain to result in Regional Instability in the Middle East.
That would be a US attack on Iran.
Now, here's my question.
Why is Regional Instability a consideration when we're discussing getting out of Iraq, but not even remotely considered when the subject is Teaching Iran a Lesson?
Because, gosh, that is a total mystery.
I mean, I cannot even hypothesize.
What. A. Stumper.
