Air America radio will be replacing evening host Rachel Maddow with emerging on-air star, Jar-Jar Binks.
"Jar-Jar will bring an eclectic mixture of current events and off-the-wall topics infused with his special brand of humor," said Air America President Mark Green. "Also, the kids love him!"
Reached at his home on a swamp planet with some stupid fucking "space" name, Mr. Binks was enthusiastic about the move.
"Me-sah like space polka! Space polka allllla time!" is an approximate guess as to his statement.
Rumors consider to swirl that popular Air America afternoon personality Randi Rhodes will be replaced by Joe Lieberman aide "Bull Moose" Marshall Wittmann.
Gushed Green, "According to our market research, 'The Moose' is immensely popular in the progressive blogosphere and by Democratic activists everywhere, but is also just the kind of 'cutting edge' but totally 'conventional' personality who appeals to the vast reserves of folks out there just waiting to be bored out of their tits by endless, pompous, hectoring reiterations of the conventional wisdom."
"We're also going to see if we can get the darling of the Liberal Blogosphere, Ann Althouse, to regularly contribute her thoughts about politics, reality TV, and how people pick on her all the time for no reason," said Green. "I love Althouse, and I'm sure our audience will soon come to adore her as well."
But Green was quick to note that no decision as to Rhodes's future has yet been made. "Nope," he said, as he hurriedly prepared a press release and drew up a new contract. "Why, the first quarter's ratings aren't even in yet! Now is not the time for precipitous action."
