The wingnuts are aghast at the Hate, the hate that consumes the Left, the hate that is so unfairly and unaccountably displayed towards such a figure as... Vice President Dick Cheney, who has never done anything hateful to anyone, never lied, never caused anyone to die to no purpose in a misbegotten war. Of course, I agree, one should never express joy that someone tried to assassinate this man specifically, whether or not that ever actually happened. That goes without saying...
But that's not the issue I want to address. Nor am I interested in the cognate issue of nutpicking. No. Let's talk about love and hate, man. Because if we on the Left, much less the Left itself, are all about the Hate, does it not follow that the Right is all about the Love? Oh yeah. Of course it does. Feel the Love. I mean, just bask in that Love (and the hilarious "cabana boy" joke, which is funny because Glenn Greenwald is a homosexual). Praise the Lord, how much freaking Love can you possibly stand!
The Right Blogosphere: it's all about the love...
Love for Vice-Presidents, especially:
LOVE: "Katherine Kersten calls out the University of Minnesota for its apparent plans to bestow an honorary doctorate on Dr. Feelbad."
LOVE: "Why do I say global warming has jumped the shark? Because it's now attained the status of conventional wisdom, not to be questioned. The Academy Award for Saint Albert is the final nail in the coffin. Conventional wisdom is almost always wrong. The net effect of the whole mishugas will be nothing but a handful of misbegotten and wasteful research initiatives by the US government."
LOVE: "I'd like nothing better than for Mr. Gore to drop by when his private jet has him in the neighborhood. We could discuss my carbon footprint. I'll even wear hiking boots, just to show him what an earth friendly kind of guy I am."
Can't you just feel this Love as it Elevates the Discourse? If you can't, why, go fuck yourself.
MORE: I mean in this post roughly what Roy says. It's just weird.
