Well, this is pretty horrible. Not Chris Clarke's decision to deep-six the blog -- that I understand perfectly well, and think is of course the right move. Blogs are fun, and neat, and amusing, sometimes even informative, and yes, can do all sorts of terrific things. But at the same time, they're just goddamn blogs. As I've said many times, 95% of what happens online is not worth getting upset over, and if you find yourself in that last 5%, turn off the computer, delete the blog, whatever. It's the response of a rational person with a sense of perspective.
And if you find yourself threatening someone's dog or their children because of something they said on their blog, just what the hell is wrong with you?
