The things you discover over at Townhall Dot Com. For instance, the Chinese and Russians are laughing at us because we are all high on many marijuanas. Isn't that right, hold on -- who are you now...?
"Scottie Nell Hughes"?
All right then.
For a once proud country with strong moral character and intellectual ambition, we have become a nation intent on destroying itself from within. The publicly sanctioned and widespread celebration of indolent potheads toking themselves into oblivion in Colorado is only the latest example.
The public has indeed widespreadedly sanctioned indolent pothead celebration, even though we used to be proud with intellectual ambition. Wrote we morally once sentences patriotic in English until the Colorado toking oblivion. So much is clear.
We have come a long way from Nancy Reagan’s largely successful "Just Say No" campaign to educate students on the dangers of drugs and their consequences. Call it "You Can Say Yes."
Nancy Reagan surely did successfully inform American young people, of whom I was one at the time, that the dangers of drugs are quite separate from the consequences of drugs, which is perhaps precisely why lots of Americans continue to do drugs, especially the marijuanas. Because the consequences of marijuana can be kind of, well, pleasant. I mean --
Sorry I brought it up.
Unfortunately, many traditional Conservatives are also getting on the drug bus because they have bought the Democrat lie that the money collected by drug users could be fiscally beneficial.
To be fair, there is no quicker way to empty a Drug Bus than to have a Traditional Conservative board it. To be even more fair, nothing that Scottie Nell (!) Hughes says after this constitutes any evidence of a Democrat "lie" in this regard. But we are treated to this:
To apply for and obtain a license to run a medical marijuana facility serving more than 500 patients, for instance, the necessary application and license fees alone approach $40,000. Colorado has agreed to take this new revenue and use it for the education of its children and construction of new schools. Does this mean at 18 every high school graduate will be handed their diploma and a doobie with the instructions to get addicted in order to help fund future generations’ educations?
Am I living in the twilight zone right now? Has our country become so ignorant that we have abandoned one of the few positive goals of eliminating substances from our cultural landscape?
ELIMINATE ALL THE SUBSTANCES FROM THE LANDSCAPE OF CULTURE!
We are witnessing the steady decline and intentional corrosion of America’s social structure. This is the ultimate goal of leftists: total control of the state that would make middle and lower class its feudal subjects. What better way to destroy a culture then to encourage mind altering substance use by the general public?
MAKE MIDDLE AND LOWER CLASS TO FEUDAL SUBJECTS! MAKE THAM TOKE MARIJUANAS SO THAN THEY BECOME MORE ILLTERATES THEN THE TOWNHALLS AND NO FREEDOMS!!!!
This is all very persuasive stuff.
Isn't it, though, Katie Kieffer?
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo feign to keep us healthy and safe by restricting our dietary choices and attacking our constitutional right to use guns for hunting and self-defense. Both men are dead wrong about health, hunting and guns.
Bloomberg chastises folks who slurp sugary soda pop while lambasting hunters who eat organic, lean, high-protein venison. Meanwhile, Cuomo has been known to holler at the top of his lungs: “No one needs 10 bullets to kill a deer!” Cuomo’s claim is completely irrelevant. You could need ten shots to defend yourself and your family from intruders.
Elites with an entourage of armed guards like Bloomberg and Cuomo prioritize their own political power over our health, safety and freedom. Here are some reasons why you should include more venison—and hunting—in your diet and lifestyle....
I'm no fan of Bloomberg, but where exactly does he say that nobody should be allowed to hunt deer or eat venison?
And how exactly is Cuomo against deer hunting, as opposed to magazine capacity, which is a separate --
I give up. Carry on.
We have an over-population of deer: Bloomberg likes to label hunting rifles as “assault weapons,” as if hunters were out to assault deer. In truth, humans will be assaulted by animals if conservationist hunters do not keep their populations in check.
Oh deer. Hahahaha, sorry.
TIME Magazine reported in December that Coyotes are threatening New York City while black bears are stressing out parents and pet-owners in New Jersey; our population of over 30 million white-tailed deer and 5 million feral pigs is becoming a nuisance: deer cause traffic accidents that kill around 200 Americans a year and feral pigs cause $1.5 billion of annual damage to residential areas.
"Coyotes" don't require a capital C, and they are not "threatening" NYC. In NJ, you can deal easily with black bears by properly handling your garbage. As for feral pigs, are you really going to blame Bloomberg and Cuomo for why they're a problem in Texas?
Here’s an idea: give Bloomberg a pet feral pig as a present. Within ten minutes he’ll be hollering for hunters to rescue him!
Well, on the bright side, neither of these two is anywhere near as brainless, vicious, and depraved as Dennis Prager.
So there's that to be said for them.
