White House officials now find themselves taking heat on a policy debate about conscience and religious liberty; the Obama administration is working to find a way to allow religious organizations to not pay for services they find morally objectionable, while also ensuring that, say, the women nurses and doctors who work at Catholic hospitals have full access to birth control.
Weird.
1. All Catholics obey the bishops.
2. The Bishops say "no contraception"!
3. Even if the oppressive secular government forces the Bishops to pay for their employees' contraception, surely, only a neglible number of said employees would even bother. Because the Bishops are taken that seriously!
I mean, this is so absurd. Everyone knows that every single American Catholic obeys the moral pronouncements of American Catholic Bishops down to the tiniest detail.
Hence, even if the Catholic Church went so far as to say we will pay for your abortion, the See has made their case so well, and and have so convincingly demonstrated their own complete moral rectitude, not a single woman anywhere ever would even think of fucking before she first checked it out with The Pope.
I mean, this is crazy. Why does the Church even care? Surely they are so extremely confident in their own moral authority, that even if they did have to pay for their employees' contraception, they would end up spending not a darn farthing.
I mean right.
(In the blockquote above, note: "while also ensuring that, say, the women nurses and doctors who work at Catholic hospitals have full access to birth control." Catholic women have traditionally done the actual hard work of caring for the sick, the poor, etc. Catholic men have traditionally done dick.)
