Yeah the Club Is Open
Just stumbled into the door after vacation, which we cut short a day for tedious reasons of business. Is a vacation relaxing when you bring your preschool children along with you? Well, no, but the kids themselves had a grand time just generally rampaging in the Outdoors. It rained -- stormed, really -- for at least part of every day but one; it was wetter than Harriet Miers with a George Bush finger puppet. But do little kids dislike mud? No! They rather enjoy it, truth be told. On the whole a good trip, anyhow. It was nice not knowing a damn thing about the Olympics, otherwise known as the Quadrennial Cavalcade of Misfit Sports, because the Olympics are pretty absurd: my country is the best, because our youngsters are remarkably aquatic! Phooey. Also I didn't read a single solitary wingnut word for a week, thus preserving some residual brain cells. Here are some pictures.
The Almost-4-Year-Old, hamming it up on the dock.
The 2-Year-Old, contemplating mischief.
NTodd's dog, and don't you wish you were that flexible?
Thanks to guest posters -- proper thanks tomorrow, but for now, I drove home, the little ones slept in the car, and now I'm exhausted and they of course are hyper... Gah.

Does this mean the funny shit will start again?

I might be one of the few men who wouldn't lick his own balls if he could. Maybe it's because my aunt made me kiss my grandfather in his coffin.

That's just all kinds of weird.

It's partially a Southern thing, but has mostly to do with my aunt. "All kinds of weird" is a fair description for her, too.

I'll second rea on the cute kids remark. Welcome back, guys.
And Rip, you did great - a total party weekend.
