No, I'm the Space Cowboy!
by Ripley
Just thought I'd put up a quick post to move things along. Any big news this weekend? Anyone's head hurting today?
Say, here's a tech question for someone smarter than me: Is there a way to pull the content of your iTunes catalog to make a list of artists & albums? I know there's something built into it, but last time I tried it, it pulled every field into the report. Big mess...
What else is going on today?
[Update] - LMAO Seriously, go read.
[Update] - Steve M. tells us what's wrong with Jerome Corsi's latest "book."
[Update] - Yes To Democracy breaks down the PUMA "movement" for those of us who haven't taken leave of our senses.

Not sure what you want exactly, but:
1. Go to Print and choose Song Listing. This will give the title, time, artist, album of whatever playlist you're in or everything in your library if you're showing all music. This can be printed to paper or saved as a pdf. The listing should be in whatever order you're current sorted by (e.g. by artist)
2. If you want something you can edit, go to Export (under file). The default, at least on my machine, is to a text file, which you can then open in Excel. It might pull more info than you want, but you can easily delete the columns you don't want.

Thanks, Saki! I'll try that when I get home.

You won't have to edit much if you turn off the fields you're not interested in from View Options (under edit).

You coud go to your iTunes application and select Music . Music has the two sixteenth note icon . Then you could choose View Options from the View menu or "Command J" .
All described key commands I am mentioning are using Mac keys for this detail .
All Key commands must be selected while in the application you wish to perform the work in .
Command Key is the closest key to the space bar . On the left side for portables .
Select the specific things that you think you want i.e. Artist , Genre , etc. Remove all the unwanted file information (Restored at your convenience) . Then you may Select All either from the Edit menu , or the "Command a" keys . Copy by selecting from the Edit menu or pressing the "Command C" keys . The last thing is to select the file format you like (simple text to the moon I guess) . Paste the specifically selected copied Music file by selecting Paste from the Edit menu or selecting the "Command v" keys on your selected file format . Bob's yer unkle .

Jerome Corsi. Mickey Kaus.
Long nights gutter-crawling together through barns and stockyards.
It marks a man: Look at their eyes. Always -- it's in the eyes.
