Chicken Blows, I Suppose
Update II: I forgot about my old buddy Thers at Whiskey Fire who, as tough as it may seem, not only stooped to a new low in defaming Helms, but did so with pride (serious vulgarity alert!).
He adds:
Are people who write this kind of stuff on the very day a fellow American dies really Americans?
Only sort of Americans worth knowing.
The 1990s, I'd say: see below. That's my recollection of the decade, anyhow.

If they aren't REALLY Americans, we have no choice but to place them in internment camps. Otherwise your daughter might accidentally marry one!

a keen observation on newsbusters by one jeff lebowskiaka "angrywhitedude":
"the ones making these vile statements are the ones in their Che Guevara t-shirts protesting every value that made our country great"
hmm... would that include the ones wearing the conservative t-shirts advertised on your site with a picture of a godless, communist AK-47?
Shame on you america hating Warsaw Pact wannabees- you made Jesse Helms cry... in hell... under 3 feet of poop

Are people who hotlink pictures from other sites w/o attribution really Americans, Noel?

Looks like Thers is getting credit for Molly's pottymouth.
I'm sure there is a lesson for gender equality here, but I can't find it before I get my coffee.

As opposed to those who wax ecstatic over a vile, hateful bigot who tried his damnedest to destroy America? Fuck yes!

Excellent work! I'm jealous.

Truth be told, I'm not really American.
Being descended from Americans, living and working there, enjoying just about every minute of it...sure.
But I'm not American. My best friend, who died of 'a big disease with a little name' in the '90's was, though.
And the phone calls I got from him in the last months of his life as he slipped into a heartbreaking dementia came from America.
Fuck the faux civility for those who would win by any means fair or foul.
And fuck respect for the dead racist, homophobic, old white men who spent their lives inflicting themselves and their virulent ignorance upon America.

Odd, the people who had the most to say about Helms' death were you frothing vitriolic Moonbats.

Hi Jenn.
Go fuck yourself.

You're insane; go look at the Corner.

i can't really *celebrate* that someone dies. i dont think i'm alone in this. i was actually very conflicted when reagan died, because alzheimer's is an incredibly nasty thing to suffer from, and i genuinely can't take joy in that kind of suffering. yet, he was still a gigantic cockgoblin, and the fact that he had a horrible disease does not change that essential truth.
so i can take some small joy in the fact that neither he, nor helms now, can affect the public discourse with their monstrous and hateful bullshit.

The people who are praising Helms now are the same people who argue that when Real True Christians (TM-slacktivist) go to heaven, they will enjoy watching the damned suffer in hell. So, basically, their story is that it's OK when they say horrible things about dead liberals, but not OK when we say truthful things about dead bigots. Especially when we use those naughty, naughty words. Such a shame that those naughty, naughty words aren't even really strong enough to describe the down-deep hatefulness of Jesse Helms.

Obviously there's no point in celebrating when a shithead lives to a ripe old age and then dies of natural causes. Now if Helms had been hit by a bus 25 years ago, that would have been cause for celebration.

No, it made it *better* because that human taint let thousands, 10's of thousands of people die from "a horrible disease" just because they weren't white heterosexuals. Fucking Legionaire's disease got more funding than AIDS did in the first few years and by the time that that piece of human filth even mentioned it in public --you know, that whole "leadership" thing that's supposed to be part of being President-- it was almost 6 years in and 70,000 people had died.
So fuck Ronald Reagan, I'm *ecstatic* that he died a horrible death. He deserved nothing less.

1.) "Stoop to a new low"? With Jessie Helms!??! Does Noel know anything about the man? I mean, is it possible to stoop in any way when discussing Herr Helms?
2.) If those dead had harmed the United States and the cause of actual Justice, Equality, and consistently lined their pockets with funds from cancer merchants, you bet your ass people who comment on all that are real Americans.
But, hey, Noel: You knew that already.
