Wow, looks like the North Carolina GOP is going to run their anti-Obama ad after all, the one John McCain told them not to run in a very stern and disapproving e-mail. What a tremendous surprise boy am I ever shocked.
There's been a bunch of speculation as to what the NC GOP is "really" up to in wanting to run the ad, like, do they really want to help HRC, or is the whole shitbang really about the governor's race, and so on. I don't know myself but if I had to hazard a guess I'd say they're doing it mostly because at the end of the day the NC GOP are a gang of hysterical race-baiting assholes who just enjoy the hell out of shit-flinging. Or maybe that's only the case when it comes to their most prominent online advocates. Either way, who cares, it's all good for Saint John. The ad gets aired in NC and is excreted across the nation via cable news idiocy, and McCain's shit don't stink at the same time. For the MSM John McCain's ethical colostomy bag has an "Ask Me about My Grandkids" bumpersticker on it, and they bring him donuts because he's their Pal. Feh.
Christ the wingnuts are boring. I have to confess that as someone who battens on right-wing stupid, the pickings lately are pretty slim. Not that there's any shortage of conservative stupid: it's just that it's been a very tedious kind of stupid lately. Wright Wright Wright Wright Ayers Traitor Traitor Traitor Dems imploding Hillary's a bitch and a liar what the fuck ever. If you've heard one of them you've heard them all. Oh well. They will I'm sure be getting more original in their insanity soon enough. It's not like they can help it.
(Note: I stole a World o' Crap joke up there; apologies, but it is a funny joke.)

Has it always been like this? I know that Nixon had the ratfuckers, but was there ever really a time in America there was any sort of real discourse? I know you can go far, far back and find examples of stupidity and name calling ("Ma, ma, where's my pa? Gone to the White House, ha ha ha"). Was it always just non stop stupidity though? Was there ever anything good about politics in America?

They really don't have a record to run on, do they?
Racism and stupidity is all they have.

I do hope we can come together, in the spirit of bipartisanship, and all agree to only being racists every other day. After all, compromise is how things get done. Oh why can't the Democrats ever see that! I'm sure that the manly Maverick McCain would approve of this plan. (Call me, John, okay? We'll have lunch!)

I support Clinton and I hate the GOP. They will stoop to any level; it is in their dna.

The morning shows are still talking about Rev. Wright. With the same video clips. With Cokie Roberts and Juan Williams (ugh, what a pair) saying how bad this is for Obama. "Pastor for 20 years." Same stupid script.
Of course when Hagee is mentioned, it turns into 20 seconds of "it's totally different." Won't lead off a segment with Hagee and devote 1/400th of the time that has been spent on Wright.

You must be bored. You used "fuck" only once.
Mike: I think the difference today is that Nixon was exposed and vilified for his ratfucking. In today's GOP, it's normal and accepted. By the likes of Cokie and Juan, noted above, that's why I hate them more than Ann Coulter.

MikeJ if there ever was anything good about politics in America I haven't read about it or seen it in my 4 decades. I said this the other day, but isn't interesting that the same press corps that literally laughed at Huckabee's cynical ploy showing a clip that he decided he wouldn't show somehow doesn't see through the same ploy when their hero pulls it.

Tsk, tsk, you missed the "Obama must denounce rap/hip-hop AT ONCE or he's implicitly saying blacks should kill whitey in their sleep" thing. Ignoring, of course, that Ludacris is flush with ho's, Cristal and Escalades because of the white people (80% of the market, by some estimates) who buy it.

Funny how the PLA must stop all attacks against Israel by independent secret actors that they possibly have no knowledge of.
But John McCain has no control over a division of his own party, a party he nominally is the head of.
Yeah, nothing looks like strong leadership like a bs denial with no real consequences. Kind of like everything thats come out of W's mouth for the last 7 years.
