Eeeek. The message here is not lost on Times commenter "Ian, New York, USA":
I think that it generally understood here in the US that we will attack Iran before the election. This will be done to get a win for the republicans. If we attack Iran it will be done to defeat a sponsor of terrorism and it will get McCain into the White House, a man this country needs to deal with those who would do harm to the US. The American people will be 100% behind any such action.
I bet Ian lives in Staten Island.
