They Stumble Headlong
Senator Lindsey Graham on why he and 47 other senators voted against the Levin bill to bing US toops home from Iraq in 9 months:
"It would be a very overt rejection of Gen. Petraeus' leadership," said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). The military commanders "have earned the ability to carry on their mission," he said at another point.
Bite me. In a "very overt" kind of way.
First off, withdrawing the troops would be a rejection of Bush's leadership, and the GOP's leadership, and neither has "earned" anything except the disgust and hatred of the vast majority of the American people. Second, "we must not ever hut the General's feelings!" as a rationale for anything is puerile and idiotic and a load of shit. General Petreaus is not our leader, and this is not his war. Nobody voted for him. And nobody's going to vote for anyone who wants to cower behind his uniform, either.
Americans apparently know basic civics a doucheload better than Senator Graham, and his party is going to learn this in 2008.
And I hope to Christ certain Democrats learn this in certain key primaries, also.

Petraeus is the WH straw dog now, funny that he looks the part - basset anyway.

Way to go Thers a Wolcott link. 1 question, is a doucheload bigger or smaller than a shitload?

What do you expect from a "confirmed bachelor who just ain't never found the right gal" who supports don't ask / don't tell but serves in the reserves?

I will not comment on any points of view suggested here but if you truly want to make an impact on others maybe you should refrain from using words such as "doucheload"

I was going to use "metric shmegma-ton" but it seemed a bit clunky. Thanks for the feedback, though.

Smaller, but funkier.

I thought Bush said the troops could come home when they've reached his vague description of success. But now they've earned the right to continue 'the mission'?
That sounds a bit like punishment, to me.

It's hard to know if Angie is an extremist from the right, or an extremist from certain groups that try to associate themselves with the left.
Though as the Ilyka affair showed, extremists from the right one month can turn up the next month as a welcomed extremist from certain groups that try to associate themselves with the left.

If only I could I could believe you.
Too many times I believed it when Ilyka said she was through, done, finished; but she always came back with one more impersonation of Pablo humping Goldstein's leg.

Actually Marc, I was surfing earlier tonight, and happened on Ilyka's blog. She's back again, even though she promised she was leaving in June. :(

begala said it well on the stephanie miller show last week: petraeus "aint the baby jesus." He's not above or beyond criticism or immune from having his statements and actions called into question.

I don't even think it's a question as to whether or not the dems have learned anything at all, it feels like the post Thatcher years now in the US.
The pedulum can't swing back and we've probably lost that gift of arguing towards the middle or 'normalcy' cuz the clocks been re hung, at a completely different angle.
c'est vrai?
just a perception

Not only that, but two plus two can now equal any number the Mighty Wurlitzer specifies.

Please do not diss the Commander-in-Chief nor any stand-in of his.
There is a set withdrawal date for all Americans to leave Iraq. If Our Leader publicized the date, then the enemy would be emboldened. (We want them to remain timid.)
Shhh...for Patriots only: All Americans will leave Iraq the morning after the last drop of Iraqi oil is pumped out of the ground.

Do you want to know how much grant money is available to the American public?
The information is available online. It can be obtained by doing a quick search. The government grants are available for artistic endeavor, or field of study, or the sole proprietor of a new business or playwright, or any type of business.
Organizations are setup at the local level to help the people in providing government grants. So there will not be competition in obtaining the grant and they will also work closely in the development of the project.
You can easily apply for government grants. These local agencies will guide you and provide all the details required before filling out the applications for the grant. For applying for the grants you need to register with Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and also register as an authorized organization representative (AOR). Once it is done and application is submitted, it will take several days to process.
